The word on Avatar is sketchy at best and Hollywood is buzzing with news and no news of the giant 3D movie franchise.
Some rumors suggest that Avatar Land at Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World (Florida) has been shelved. The project was scheduled for 2015, but has been pushed forward. The Avatar Land attraction is reported to cost around $500 million, and should be on its way to completion in 5 years. Let's hope people still remember the movie by that time!
More rumors:
Avatar 2 will take place underwater - at least partly.
Avatar 3 will move away from Pandora as a main location and travel to other lands
Avatar 2 will be followed by Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 - these rumors come from James Cameron's assertion that he is "...in the Avatar business", and likely to make the franchise his main focus for directing.
James Cameron has even shut down the idea of working on any other projects at the moment to focus on the blue, wobbly, shimmery world of Avatar. The sequels 2 and 3 will be shot back to back or possibly simultaneously. Let's hope this doesn't lead to watered-down sequels.
Watered down? Get it? Never mind...
